AMCHS FFA excels at Area 3 LDEs

This past Saturday FFA members participated in the Area 3 FFA Leadership Development Events. Placings are as follows:
4th Place Senior FFA Skills- Tristian De Leon, Kurt Hopcus and Colton Harper
2nd Place and Qualifying for State Junior FFA Skills- Jackson Lee, Gentry Fox and Ethan Dobson
6th Place Agriculture Issues- Patyon McGinnis, Zack Jett, Anica Winn, Riley Garrett, Madeline Phillips, Meredith Poling and Brynne Adamson

Tiger Robotics Advancing to State

Over the past weekend the Tiger Robotics team traveled to South Early College to compete in the Regional Southeast Texas B.E.S.T. Robotics and Engineering Contest. The team’s dedication and hard work paid off once again. Tiger Robotics took Third place B.E.S.T Overall award, and First Place in the B.E.S.T. Overall award for 5A UIL schools. The team will travel to Dallas, TX on December 7th – 9th to compete at the state/national level Texas B.E.S.T. competition at the University of Texas at Dallas and Dr. Pepper Arena.

AMCHS Speech & Debate Sweeps UIL Regional Congress Meet

The AMCHS Speech & Debate team competed at the UIL District 6 Regional Congressional Debate tournament this past Wednesday (Nov 15), and the team swept the top 3 spots for the 5th year straight, earning the 3 spots in our region to the UIL State meet that will be held at the Texas State Capitol in Austin on January 8-10, 2018. Representing Consol were the following students:

Congratulations to our Vocal Ensemble "A-Side," who has just been accepted into the Varsity Vocals International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA)! This is the only global tournament that showcases the art of high school student a cappella.

To honor the beginning of National Homelessness and Hunger Awareness Week (November 11-19) this past weekend, SkillsUSA students Muhammad Sajid, Sam Chandler, John Adams, Reid Ragusa, and Delphine Leoue Ngoko Djomo embarked on a life-changing Poverty Simulation sponsored by Mission Waco in Waco, Texas.

This weekend the AMCHS Speech & Debate team traveled to James Taylor HS in Katy, TX where they had several semifinalists and finalists. The AMC Ticket Office will be open Thursday and Friday, 7:30 am until 1:30 pm and students can also purchase tickets in the cafeteria on Friday during all lunches.
