Tiger Swimming boys and girls both took 2nd place in the 20-5A District Championships on Saturday in Austin, Texas. Swimmers who won events included Peter Simmons, Tobias Doerr-Garcia, Andrew Zhang, James Rude, and Kaitlyn Owens.

Tiger Wrestling results

A&M Consolidated wrestling competed at the Black and Blue Invitational this weekend in Schertz, TX. The Tigers placed second out of 21 teams. The host team Schertz Clemens won it by scoring 119.5 while the Tigers scored 116.5 points.
145 Mason Kruljac was the lone champion for the Tigers. 113 Anthony Criscione, 120 Andy Barnett, 170 Leonard White, and 195 Alexis Vejar all placed second. The two lady Tigers placed second as well: 138 Mikayla Hodnett and 148 Nadia Vejar.

Consol Color Guard Takes Second Place

The Consol Color Guard took second place in their first competition of the season against nine other guards in their round. They will be bumped up to the next classification due to a score of 81.39!

Spencer Williamson wins the ETA International Scholarship Contest

ETA, the Electronics Technicians Association, hosted a scholarship contest in an effort to brace for the ‘sliver tsunami’ of retiring baby boomers in the wireless communications industry. ETA and International Wireless Communications Board selected Spencer to win a scholarship package which includes attendance at the Internarial Wireless Communications Expo in Orlando, FL from March 6-10, 2018.

Outstanding Teacher in Community Service

A&M Consolidated High School Career and Technology Education (CTE) teacher Bart Taylor was recently named the Outstanding Teacher in Community Service for the 2018 by the Trade and Industrial Vocational Association (TIVA). This award recognizes individuals who have used CTE to make a significant impact on their community and demonstrated leadership in programs and activities that promote student involvement in community service. Taylor, in his 17th year with CSISD, teaches computer networking and cyber security at Consol.

A&M Consolidated wrestling competed at the Cougar Classic on Saturday, placing third with 114 points. Georgetown won with 126.5 points.

Mason Kruljac 145 and Leonard White 170 were champions. Connor George 106, Andy Barnett 120, and Alexis Vejar 195 placed second. John Harris 106, Anthony Criscione 113, Jacob Sanchez 126, Kurt Hopcus 138, and Nadia Vejar 148 all placed third. For JVs: Zane Jackson 138 placed first. Nick Eggebrecht 170 placed second. Mundhir Taiyeb 160 placed fourth.
