What is the history of the school?

In 1909, the state of Texas granted a charter for an independent school district to encompass the campus of Texas A&M University. But it was not until September, 1920, that formal classroom instruction began at A&M Consolidated School on the university campus, with the first high school graduating class celebrating commencement in 1922. In addition to serving the children of university faculty and staff who resided on the university campus, the school welcomed students from neighboring communities of Wellborn, Rock Prairie, Union Hill and Shiloh. Rural students were transported by bus to classes at the school in its early years, eventually leading to full consolidation by 1928. By 1940, the school had grown to the point that it moved off the university campus, thus marking the birth of College Station ISD. Today, CSISD boundaries encompass 102 square miles in Brazos County. A&M Consolidated High School is a comprehensive public high school with more than 1,700 students in grades 9 through 12.

What is the school's accreditation?

A&M Consolidated High School is accredited by the Texas Education Agency and the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges.
