AMCHS Orchestra Region Results 2017

Members of the AMCHS Orchestra program competed at Temple High School for chairs in the Region String and Symphony Orchestras. AMCHS had 32 students win chairs at the contest, the highest number of any high school in the region. They will perform at Baylor University on Saturday, December 9th, 2017. College Station ISD Students Attend SkillsUSA’s Washington Leadership Training Institute on Capitol Hill

Four College Station ISD High School students, Tannah Brister (CSHS), Chloe Merkel (CSHS), John Adams (AMCHS and Spencer Williamson (AMCHS), recently joined in a delegation of Texas career and technical education students and instructors to meet with Senate and House representatives to advocate for career and technology education and Perkins funding. In addition to Congressional visits and leadership training, both students earned their National SkillsUSA Statesman Award, the highest achievement for a SkillsUSA student.

Speech & Debate National Results

On June 18-23, 5 students from the A&M Consolidated Speech & Debate team traveled to Birmingham, AL to compete at the National Speech & Debate Association's National Tournament. Students competed in a variety of public speaking & debate events throughout the week. Representing AMCHS were Cassie He, Benjamin Lamb, Elizabeth Palazzolo, Aabid Razvi, and Michael Sprintson.

SkillsUSA National Contest Results - #Texcellence

18 students from A&M Consolidated High School traveled to Louisville, KY from June 16th - 24th, to compete in the 52nd Annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, the largest showcase and competition for Career and Technical education students. The students participated in eight days of Leadership training and competitions.

UIL Speech & Debate State Meet Results

This week we had 2 students representing AMCHS at the UIL State Speech & Debate meet held at the University of Texas in Austin. In addition to being state finalists, Elizabeth Palazzolo (persuasive speaking) & Aabid Razvi (informative speaking) placed 2nd & 4th (respectively) in the STATE! Both students competed in extemporaneous speaking events in which they are given 5 current event/issues topics to choose from, and then have 30 minutes to prepare a 7-minute speech on their selected topic before a panel of judges. Elizabeth & Aabid are also both qualified for national tournament in June.
